anyone read the pursuit of happiness by douglas kennedy ?
I thought the title of the book was obviously meant to be ironic - it is a love story but of a very different kind - it is quite complex and i dont want to say too much about the story because any little hint would give it away - the lead in to the story is very clever - a daughter is going to her mother's funeral and then to sort out her flat and estate - same old same old you think but not so.
as i say i cant really do a review because anything i say will give the many twists away - so if anyone reads it come back to me and we can have a talk about it - thats an order by the way cos i would like other peoples views on it.

instead of putting this in what are you reading today i thought i would put it in here - radical i know but hey 1
i am reading an author i have never heard of bernhard schlink - flights of love - the book was leant to me by LJ ( because she forgot the one she was originally gonna lend me and i cant remember what that was )
anyway - i like this book, it is short stories about different kinds of love - i like the writing it is kind of stern and not at all sentimental but is also very evocative - not romantic well not so far anyway but interesting
