Sambuca, Black

much of black licorice (anise). Many at this point say "Yuck! I hate
black licorice!". I know, I would have been one of those if I was
told it tasted like black licorice before I tried it. I actually
acquired a taste for black licorice through my fondness for black
sambuca.
Black sambuca differentiates itself from regular (clear) sambuca in a
couple ways. First, it is a dark purplish black in color and not
transparent like regular sambuca. However, having tried both, I
believe the black variety to be smoother and more enjoyable, while
still retaining the ability to knock one on their ass.
I find black sambuca most delicious when it has been chilled in the
freezer. It's consistency becomes syrupy, while it's taste becomes
even more smooth. My preferred measure of ingestion is a shot :)
