Why be a Biker?

2 Conversations

2003, my 22nd year riding and getting knocked off bikes, sleeping (briefly) in tents, having random conversations with even more random people.
Over the years I've lost count of the times I've been asked why we do what we
do when it cannot be argued that most of the aspects of the lifestyle are going to shorten One's life expectancy and fry One's braincells.
I have a theory that it is a genetic pre-disposition which will be identified one day and maybe even be available on the
NHS for the poor souls born without it!
If this was ever proved to be the case, how many of us bikers would want the 'cure'?
I suspect it would be a short queue...
