Dual Personalities
Superheroes generally have two identities: their normal, everyday identity, plus there over-the-top superhero personality.
No link must be established between the two, except in special episodes.
Hence, every time there is a crisis, it's "I've just got to go to the loo...".
Dress Code
There is only one way to be a true superhero: dress in really colourful, over-the-top cloths.
This should only be worn when being a superhero.
Hence, every time there is a crisis, it's "Where's the nearest phone box?".
Special Abilities
Most superheroes have special powers of some kind: the ability to see through walls, swing around buildings, move really fast, etc.
If you don't have these abilities, you can gain them by using gadgets of some kind.
Hence, every time there is a crisis, it's "Go, go gadget bad-guy-destructatron".
Vulnerability
Every superhero has a weakness. Some even have a few. But don't panic: the good guy always wins*.
Hence, every time there is a crisis, it's "Oh, no! Not that! It's my only weakness!".
Family History
To be a superhero, it helps to have a rich or powerful family and/or have a murdered, missing or abducted family, so you can get vengeance while rescuing them or finding what really happened.
Hence, every time there is a crisis, it's "And this time it's personal".
Good or Bad?
Most superheroes go through a phase where they almost become bad. Some actually do
become bad, for a time.
Hence, every time there is a crisis, it's "Join the Dark Side".
Code of Conduct
Rescue innocent bystanders, hostages, etc.
