The Valentine Ridge Story: Introduction

I had several requests to keep in touch when I retired. I have no idea what anyone wants to hear about. And I’m sure if a survey were made, the answers would be multiple. So I will just do like so many people on the WWW do: whatever I like!
I hope to post weekly (or more frequent) summaries of our already eventful life as retired hippies in the woods! [It didn't work out that way on the schedule!]
It is about 1900 on September 25, 2001 and it is lightly sprinkling outside the computer shack. I am amazed that it is warm enough to leave the door open with only a nightshirt for clothes; that wasn’t the case a few hours ago! It has been in the mid 80s for a high since we moved here Saturday.
