Terrahawks was created by Gerry Anderson and Christopher Burr in the early eighties and was filmed using Supermacromation and Hudsoncolor.
SYNOPSIS:

"IN THE YEAR 2020, EARTH IS MENACED BY THE ANDROID zelda, QUEEN OF THE PLANET GUK, AND HER HIDEOUS "FAMILY". THEY'RE BENT ON DESTROYING ALL HUMANOID LIFE IN THE GALAXY, AND EARTH IS THEIR NEXT TARGET!
zelda's SON yung-star FANCIES HIMSELF AS AN EVIL GENIUS, BUT IT IS SOON CLEAR THAT HE ISN'T UP TO THE JOB, WHILE "DAUGHTER" cy-star DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE INVASION, SO LONG AS SHE'S WEARING THE RIGHT OUTFIT.
IN THEIR MARS-BASED FLEET OF SHIPS, zelda CARRIES MONSTERS COLLECTED FROM THE UNIVERSE HELD IN SUSPENDED ANIMATION, READY TO INFLICT MISERY UPON THE UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE OF PLANET EARTH.
terrahawks IS LED BY THE CLONE dr "tiger" ninestein, ASSISTED BY mary falconer, hiro, hawkeye AND THE INTERNATIONAL POPSTAR kate kestrel, NOT FORGETTING THE SHERICAL BOUNCING ROBOT ZEROIDS.
IN THEIR SECRET SOUTH AMERICAN BASE HAWKNEST, WITH THE WORLD'S MOST ADVANCED FIGHTINGMACHINES AT THEIR DISPOSAL, THE terrahawks WAGE A NEVER ENDING WAR AGAINST THE INVADERS FROM MARS."
The series ran for 26 episodes with a constant theme of ZELDA and her cronies attemptin to destroy mankind but always being defeated by the TERRAHAWKS.
The terms used to describe the filming process were references to parts of the series, for instance HUDSONCOLOR referred to the Rolls-Royce that Ninestein drives which is able to change colour at any time.
Supermacromation was the technique used to control the characters from bellow to remove the possibility of any stings being visiable, this also enabled to character's faces to look more human than previous series produced by Anderson.
Vehicles:
The vehicles used by the Terrahawks were designed to be hidden from the view of the public with one hidden below the base building, which folded down out of the way at launch and landing.
