The Cello

0 Conversations

The Cello is an intresting member of the string instrament family, providing the rich balance betweed deep and light tones. It is a large instrament, the one that looks like a violin that you play sitting down. The body of the instrument goes inbetween your legs, and the neck of it over your shoulder. It has four strings, from high to low, A, D, G, and C. The cello is played by placing a bow ( a sort of wooden, fiberglass, or carbon-graphite stick with horsehair on one side) on one of the strings and moving it back and forth horizontally. It creates vibration in the string, and therefore the instrament. The result is a nice tone that can be changed by changing strings, or by moving your fingers up or down the fingerboard.
