Heaternet
Created | Updated Jun 1, 2002
A radical new networking transport layer. TCP/IP packets are collected, encoded, then transferred from one computer to another by tapping a rusty spoon on radiator pipes, and listening for the taps at the other end. It was developed by inmates of the Illinois State Penitentiary.
Benchmarking tests have shown that although it is slower than traditional ethernet, it has two advantages:
- It doesn't require your office or house to be cabled up.
- It's still faster than Appletalk.
