Women began racing cars before the beginning of the last century,they brought glamour and excitement to circuits like Brooklands,Cyrstal palace,Montlhery,LeMans.
they had to fight prejudice and bias in a sport dominated by men,this was even more so in Britain,where for years they had to fight claims they would spoil a macho sport,be unable to handle powerful cars,and had neither the stamina nor physique to withstand the rigours of racing.
Overcoming such pejudices demanded a special breed of women who not only refused to take no for an answer but would set about proving their critics wrong by winning races,breaking records and becoming members of successful teams.
