Purple Dragon Philm House

Welcome to the Philm House, a collection of musings and jottings by me on "wot I av been mostly seeing" this year. It is not by any means a complete list because life in the real world tends to take over, so whilst I've seen plenty actually writing about it takes lesser priority. A lot of the other films I have seen I've gone to discuss with JEllen and the guys at the movies of the moment thread.

Still I hope you enjoy what you read. I have fairly broad taste in films; highbrow, lowbrow, violent, girly, subtitled or not. Not so good with horror, although I am slowly educating myself with help, war films tend to make me cross, and superhero films can be great fun, but worry me slightly. Even dumb or bad films can be good if done with conviction.

Favourite films? Ghost Dog: Way of the Samuari, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Leon, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and a whole host of others depending on the moment.

Favourite Directors? Terry Gilliam, The Coen Brothers, Jim Jarmush, - yeah, I know, whimsey, whimsey, whimsey, but genius all the way.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
