A Conversation for Coping With Redundancy
Preempt stress. Resign with fun

If you know you're going to be laid off, you can preempt redundancy stress by resigning with fun. Try embarassing your boss or ruining something important to the company. On the TV Show Seinfeld, George Costanza worked for the Yankees baseball team. He took a World Series trophy out to the parking lot and dragged it around with his car.
Resigning doesn't offer much of a severance package, but it has more dignity and sometimes more fun.
