A Conversation for Wonderful Rivers

My favourite river is the Thames which flows roughly from Lechlade in Gloucestershire and flows out through Essex/Kent in the UK.
The Thames has a lot of history, especially as it flows through England's capital. Once it carried cholera and other foul diseases through London, these days its more likely to be commercial shipping, yachties or University Boat Race Crews. Many important landmarks can be seen along its banks from the Houses of Parliament to Osney Bridge.
River tours on the Thames are legion and vary in their quality to be honest.
So why did I choose the Thames? Its the only river I have travelled all the way along by boat. My favourite part of the journey is between Lechlade and Oxford but it never ceases to amaze me how the landscape changes from countryside to metropolis in a fairly short distance.
