The New River. Runs *backwards* (away from the Atlantic ocean) through Virginia and ends somewhere in West Virginia. It's supposedly one of the oldest rivers in the US, possibly one of the oldest in the world.

Stalking me, are you?
New River runs right next to my uni... I love going down to Bisset Park and watching it. It also runs through the county my grandmother lives in, and we basically followed it on Rt 100 (I think) when we all went to Bluefield, WV.
It's a gorgeous river, but people keep on being stupid and go fishing and swimming in it and get sucked in underneath rocks...
Unfortunately that's all I know about it off the top of my head.
