A Conversation for Wonderful Rivers

Well, one Scouser at least had to say: The Mersey.
But I really do like it. Never been as far back as its source (somewhere in Greater MAnchester), but once you get to Liverpool, although the river itself isn't that great (depite being home to porpoises and squid, apparently), the banks, especially on the LIverpool side...such magnificent buildings...the Three Graces, fantastic views of LIverpool, historic docks (including the world's first dry dock)...it's superb.
Also, at one time it was probably (commercially, at least) second in importance only to the Thames in London. It does flow, after all, through the British Empire's second city.

The source of the Mersey is in Stockport, under a large shopping centre where two smaller rivers (The Goyt and The Tame) meet before heading off to Liverpool and the Irish Sea.
