A Conversation for Great Comedy Acts

Steve Martin is so talented and versatile and completely hilarious. He's written several movies commenting on life in Los Angeles that crack me up no matter how many times I see them. 'LA Story,' 'Mixed Nuts,' and 'Bowfinger' are all funny and biting. 'Parenthood' is a classic and his work on SNL stands as some of the most memorable comedy ever. He's also written plays and essays. I would definitely recommend his essay on the inventor of the CD case. It's too too funny.

I forgot to mention 'The Jerk' and 'The Man With Two Brains,' both of which are great.

Ahh, I'm glad someone is trying to bring Steve Martin to h2g2. I breifly thought about doing an article about him. He is very funny, and one of the few modern preformers with physical humor.
I believe the BBC made a biography on him actually

I'm glad somebody noticed! I was beginning to worry nobody thought Steve Martin was worth the space on the What's Funny discussion.

Yes, I saw them! And he cracked me up. I was especially amused by his joke about Colin Farrell but, unfortunately, I missed Colin's response to Mr. Martin. I can only hope it was respectful.

Even with the Oscars he tried to approach it from an oblique direction-all the winners-nominees. No losers herer tonight but we're about to change all that. Generally good stuff from Him but he is soooo talented he could soo much better
