November-to-November 2024-2025 Create Writing Challenge: Short and Sweet

It's November. All of the novellas have been finished and/or paused in preparation for the next volume. (Some have even been published.) So what do we do now?

It's time to get ready for our next project: 2025 will be a short-story year.

Write short fiction!

You don't want to abandon your favourite métier, you say? The one you've spent so much world-building time on? We hear you. Just set your stories in that universe. We won't mind.

You have a particular favourite genre? Scifi, fantasy, detective? Write your short tales in that genre. No problem.

You're the writer who starts a novel and suddenly has three or four totally unrelated story ideas? This is your chance to scratch that itch.

We're going to be looking to create an anthology come this time next year. Help us collect the pieces for a giant prose quilt!

Whenever you're ready. Start sending your copy to the h2g2 Post.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
