Heroic Kids: Answers

You probably found this quiz really hard. You probably had to go by clues like nationalities to guess the names. If you were lucky, you had probably heard of two of the kids on this list.

So why take the challenge? Maybe to remind ourselves that often, we neglect to notice the kids in the room. We forget they're there. They know what's going on, more than you think they do. They care. Sometimes, they can teach us. A number of these children had to make their marks early, because that was all the time they had. They weren't going to live to grow up. So why not take this list and do some googling? Maybe we owe these kids more than a plaque. Maybe we should learn about the problems they spent their short lives trying to fight. Maybe there's something we can do to help.

One final thought: why, when the Editor typed 'famous kids', did Google pop up a page full of celebrities and their offspring? We can do better than this.
