A Conversation for History of Russian Vodka
Vodka as a curative
Woland Started conversation Feb 28, 2003
many Russians ascribe to the medicinal properties of vodka - but I just see that as an excuse to have a drink.
however, today, my colleague had a very upset tummy. He was sweating such that I'd say he had food poisoning. He put it down to some bad fish he had eaten the night before.
"Im going to take the natural cure", he says. "Will you join me". He added about a quarter teaspoon of salt to his vodka and knocked it back in one. At that point I thought he was really going to chuck up, but he held it down and within five minutes he was perfectly fine.
