I know sod all about golf but lived in the UAE & know the guy who set up these (there are now two); they host the Dubai PGA tournament & are highly rated.
If anyone's seriously interested, let me know & I can get loads more info (still have friends living there)

Yes, I'm seriously interested. Spill the beans please.
The one at Dubai's got the 'bedouin tent' club-house doesn't it?

Salaam Alaikum!
The guy who started out managing the first one, the one with the Bedu tents, is called Rod Bogg. I first met him in Malawi where he was manager of Blantyre Sports Club (another fine golf course by the way)
He was also into Amateur Dramatics & will remember us ad-libbing dirty jokes to each other on-stage!!
He then got the (incredibly lucrative!) job of setting up the Dubai course; I then met him again a few years (& partners!) later in Dubai at the course itself (I have photo's somewhere on a golf-cart with him!) He was then in the process of setting up the 2nd Creek course, which I've only visited at the early stage (ie putting the sprinklers in etc)
Lost touch with him about 5yrs back, so assume he's there still; shouldn't be difficult to find out via the net. He'll know me as Terri if you find him. Very sociable bloke, useful contact to have in M.E!
Just got email from friends I'd lost touch with, who are still living in Al Ain (Eng.tchers); when I email them I can try & arrange some contacts if you like.
My ex-flatmate when I was in Qatar moved to Bahrain, wrote a book of poetry about the place, if you like that sort of thing I can track down details (she's now back in Oldham)
