The data here was originally taken from this thread, and convoluted by a complicated scoring system of my own devising. Please feel free to vote either in the thread above or in the forum below, and I'll try to keep the list updated regularly.

A total of 73 eligible sitcoms have been voted for.
Exclusions
After long debate and soul-searching, I have had to exclude 'The Simpsons' from this list. To my mind, it does not fulfil the 'Situation' requirement of situation comedy. I am unlikely to be swayed on this, so don't try and change my mind.
With even more regret, I have had to exclude M*A*S*H*, as it is a film adaptation, therefore the 'Situation' requirement is not original.
Comedy Dramas (eg 'Teachers' and HHGTTG) have not been included; neither have programmes that are primarily sketch shows ('Monty Python', 'League Of Gentlemen').
