This weekend, have just changed the oil in Odo's (U192764 and my girlfriend) car - one of those blasted Fiats where you need a special hexagonal bit to get the sump plug out.
In doing so I managed to contravene rules 1,2,5,11,12 and 15. Oopsie!

I think maybe I should give up, after this lot.
Still, her car works, and has (as far as I know) got her back to South Wales safely, so it proves that corners can be cut.

I can confirm that said car got me home safely.
She's now got a very different engine noise though, was that supposed to happen?

How do you mean 'different'?
As long as it's smoother and quieter, that's a good thing. If not, you might want to check your spark plug connection cables are all pushed in properly.

Smoother and quieter, yes. I've even got a bit more in the way of accelaration up hills now. She's got more 'go' to her in a strange way.

Yes, that'll be the fact that you're using shiny new spark plugs and a clean air filter rather than a four cremated lumps of metal and a carbon-soaked sponge.
