To blabber, to shun, and to wholly boast

Fnord,
One of the characters in the Life of Pi says it is a story that will make you believe in God.
Not 'heavy' but very thoughtful and well-written.

But I don't *want* to believe in God!

Fnord,
You don't want to believe in God? Well, fine. To be honest, Life of Pi didn't make me believe in God but it did make me believe in Richard Parker (or rather, confirmed the fact that he exists). It's a lovely read.
I'm quite sure that both you and Noggin (and you too Hoo, if you're still out there) would love it.

I think Hoo's moved onto greater things, eg debating the use and anonymity of the Italics. That is mere assumption, however, based only on stalking him and Noggin for the last few hours out of lack of much better to do...

I haven't read the life of pi. Is it good? By the way, I saw the Matrix Reloaded on saturday. I thought it was very good but the fight scenes went on too long. Yes, I did notice the biblical connections. I'm not too dim, contrary to what Clare would have you believe.
Can we talk more about lies, and religion etc.?
Glad you're still hear Hoo! I wouldn't have anyone to contradict me otherwise!

Jem,
In fact, I think it was your posting that drew Hoo back to us.
Go for it - lies, biblical stuff, etc.
Am waiting with baited breath.
Also, very nice to have you back, Patito!

Two points:
1) Ducke, Patito or whatever, I DO NOT think you're dim at all! You are interesting and intelligent, you just don't get irony, that's all!
2)erm...what was it again? Oh well.
Hoo is *here* Entchen. He can't *hear* you.

Fnord,
Also, might be better to move the discussion about revising and 'authority problems' over here, rather than continue this on the Meaning of Life thread.

Clare can't spell either! Ducke!
What's the greatest lie YOU'VE ever told? Did you mean it to be a lie, or do you now consider it to be one?

Jem,
Was that question only directed at Claire? spelling her name wrong on purpose, just to be silly.
What is the greatest lie I have ever told? I think the daily one in that I am a calm, serene, capable person at least somewhat in charge of her life somehow. Seems to fool em everytime.
Well, maybe that's not a total lie, except that in fact I am mostly a totally wigged-out, extremely nervous, insecure weirdo most of the time!
Got the 'facade' down to an art form by now, though. Also have the very soft-spoken voice. So that most people that meet me think I am quite something and a very 'together' sort of person.
(haaaahaahaahaa!)
Joke's on them. So it's nice to be able to be my usual weirdo self with you guys.
What's the greatest lie you have ever told, Jem?

ps
don't agree at all that you don't 'get' irony.

Hello, Jem. I'm Fnord. You don't know me, but I know you...
Sorry, Az, it just happened.
I must say, Hoo, I'm following this whole blasphemy-against-the-Italics thing religiously... and I think the best part of it is that they have a special name which makes 'em sound like a secret society, along the lines of the Illuminati, the Masons, or the Rotary.

Sorry, Az, it just happened. And I had to go suddenly, because a biology exam beckoned...

Oops. I've been kicking an idea round recently, of yikesing my own posts if they double up or summat, or would that just get me into trouble and waste the admins' time?

az,
I think Duckie was asking everyone, I was sitting next to her at the time, so she probably wasn't just asking me. Not sure though.

I suppose you could claim you were spamming, Fnord, but that's against the house rules, so you're probably best just keeping quiet.
Hi, Jem, nice to see you back. How were the grandmas?
I know just what you mean, Az. I always feel like I'm fakin it myself.
