So then, I guess it would further complicate matters if I mentioned that Gravity is a function of Mass, and that it too can influence the speed of light, hence the "gravitational lensing" of light bending around a Black Hole...

Yes, Peet, it would Happily we don't have any black holes in the immediate vicinity (not in this solar system anyway... or, at least, not that we've noticed ) and so we can continue to lie about that on most levels

Err, no. Gravity does not alter the speed of light. To an outside observer the velocity of the light lensing round a massive object is certainly altered, but from each photon's perspective it is travelling at a resolute c in the same direction it set out in. Spacetime bends to accommodate both perspectives.
