HFS / UFS (A note on filesystems)

It perhaps should be noted that the installation of OS X has the option to format the destination drive. You can choose to format it with either UFS (Unix File System) or HFS (I can't remember what this stands for but it's the old MacOS format).
In my experience, if you use HFS OS X will run slightly faster. Which is odd, because I'd have expected UFS to be faster.
