A Conversation for Pacifism

Why do people look at you as if you are a leper when you say you're a pacifist? Some of the most well-loved and respected people in history were pacifists, The Beatles, for example. What's wrong with society is that they can't take anyone 'ordinary' who is different from them. Take the current situation in Afghanistan. We had a discussion on this in college and when I said I wouldn't fight, not even if Scotland was under attack, the whole class turned on me. They didn't even listen to my reasons. My main argument is, incidentally, taken from a John Lennon song: All we're saying is give peace a chance.

Come on over to "Let's Debate Pacifism" and make your case. I don't agree with pacifism at the moment but I AM willing to listen to reasons in favour of it. See you there.
John Luke.

Hi
I'm not sure I understand your question although I do know what URL means. The 'Lets Debate Pacifism' I referred to is another conversation thread under the article on Pacifism, i.e. A657263 in h2g2.
Is that what you are looking for? If not please elaborate.
