Apple MacOS and MS Windows: what they have in common

3 Conversations

Both are based on an Apple Computer Invention known as "ProDos," which later evolved into DOS, while apple decided to use a more sleek GUI Shell, where the code can only be accessed in a panel by pressing a "Programmers Switch."

Both Systems use a directory similar to the Apple IIgs operating system (Apple Macintosh has retained the Apple Menu, and even the overall design)

Bill Gates, Former CEO of Microsoft, was one of the co-founders of Apple Computing company

Both were started in a Garage

Both headquarters of the OS manufacturers are on the West Coast of the US.
