A Conversation for Mental Health
Kay Jamison - great book
Ellen Started conversation Nov 22, 2001
There is a wonderful, wonderful book about manic-depression by Kay Redfield Jamison called An Unquiet Mind: A Memoir of Moods and Madness. It is an autobiography of a woman who both treats bipolar disorder, and struggles with it herself. Oliver Sacks says that this book "stands alone in the literature of manic-depression for its bravery, brilliance, and beauty." I agree wholeheartedly, and cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is a great book for anyone diagnosed with manic-depression, as well as family and friends who want to understand the illness.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
