7rob7: Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)

This is so exciting - my first solo edited entry! And scheduled for the Front Page on Christmas Eve! And it gets a new graphic of its very own(I think)!!! Wow!

A couple of things, though, that skidded through the editing processes, and wound up in the embankment.

1. Ruth Plumly Thompson was very coy about her age, and generally gave out her birthdate as being several years later than reality. I revised the statement regarding her age when she started writing her Oz books by simply omitting it, but somehow it crept back in. Who am I to say how old she felt she was?

2. I'd originally provided a link for 'Books of Wonder' that was originally deemed too commercial, but then was 'approved' by Abi. Now it's gone again. No biggie: any search engine'll give you the URL.

3. Lastly, I'd included a link to Dave Hardenbrook's "Nonestica" fan-discussion list at Yahoo Groups - a friendly bunch of Oz scholars who 'fact-checked' this entry for me as it entered the editorial process. Inexplicibly, the entire reference has been deleted. ???? (And I haven't a clue as to who to approach for an answer - Fashion Cat told me that this went back into the SubEd pool before she'd finished with it...)

Anyway, just wanted to set some things straight. Thanks for dropping by.
