Nightclubs

Nightclubs are establishments primarily designed for dancing and consuming over-priced alcohol. However, a secondary feature of the night club is the potential it offers to meet a member of the opposite sex, and hopefully spend some quality time with them. This must be achieved without resorting to verbal communication, although occasionally shouting 'What's yer name?' in someone's ear might evoke a response.
The most common aim of the night clubber is to spend time in the club enthralling a potential partner, then to take a taxi ride to somewhere warm with a bed. In fact what usually happens is that their time is spent self-consciously standing in a corner, pretending to be engrossed in a highly amusing conversation while all the time they're glancing around, hoping to spot that good-looking person who was definitely eyeing them up when they came in...
