A Conversation for Creating Great Fancy Dress Costumes

I have been invited to a costume party (THIS saturday!!) and we are supposed to dress up as, (quote) "a famous character from film or TV". So my problem is: how do I dress to look convincinly like some star or whatever that is easy to recognize? I guess animated figures would also qualify (am considering Cruella de Ville from 100 Dalmatians) but would never go for Mickey Mouse. Of course it would be great to look like Sharon Stone but that is impossible as there is no resemblence to start from. So please please help me anybody smart! I have brown, chin-length hair, a slim figure and not much money to spend on the dress. Thank you, sweeties!

If only I'd seen this earlier....

A friend of mine came to a fancy dress party as The Invisible Man. All you need is a suit, hat, gloves, and white bandages - which you wrap round your head.

He said it was a bit hot, but he stuck with it all night.

And girls can use it too!
