The Swanny River Meet

A bridge over a river

In response to the fantastic London Real-Time Summer Party and the up-and-comming Spring Onion up in Manchester, here is a meet for all you southern researchers in need for their own second meet. Swanny River is coming to Oxford on the 11th of August 2001, it is a fond hope that we leave the place intact.

What is there to do?

We aim to play two or so sessions at the Oxford Laserquest1. I have been told that Abi will show no mercy to any researcher on the opposing side2 so shooting her will be rewarded with much cheering and possible free drinks smiley - biggrin.

Following the thrashing Abi will receive we will retire to either University Park for a frisby match or G&D's Ice Cream Parlour3 depending on weather conditions4 for a couple of hours before heading off to the Beat Cafe5 for a well earned drink. smiley - cheers

What will it cost for the Laserquest?

Each session will cost between £4 and £5 per person, so bring enough to cover yourself and your homocidal tendencies. As this is an unofficial meet (not organised by the Towers) we won't be able to afford to pay for anyone ourselves. What you pay for is what you get.

What time will we be meeting?

Our meeting spot for the Laserquest will be the Oxford railway station at 2pm on the 11th August. Please try and be on time as it is easy to get lost in Oxford and we all need to be ready to shoot each other when we get to the venue smiley - biggrin

If you can't afford the Laserquest but still wish to join us for then we will be waiting for you at the Oxford Bus Station at about 3.15pm. From there we head to the appropriate destination.

We will head to the pub at about 6pm. The pub is the lovely Beat Cafe on Little Clarendon Street (near the Radcliffe Infirmary, opposite G&Ds sort of and near the park) so if you can just get to Oxford for that, please do smiley - biggrin

Who is coming?

Sign up in the RSVP thread below and tell us which parts of the day you can attend. All are welcome, not just southerners so don't be shy to put your name down.
