I never participate in any form of market research because my information is valuable to these companies. Why should I feel compelled to give this information for free?

intriguing, perhaps you should start a firm of people who are paid by survey companies for their oppinions? let me know if you need some staff to help you get started

Actually, these "survey companies" already exist, and the professional opiners participate in so-called "focus groups."
True to HippieOgre's original advice to pause for additional information before reflexively hanging up, last night I received an invitation to participate in a focus group, to listen music mixes for radio programming. For 2 hours of listening an feeding back, I will receive $50!
