You can still get these in the more 'select' (ie old fashioned) sweet shop. They're smaller now, of course... They were rock-hard balls of sherbet, and came in orange and strawberry flavour, the strawberry ones being particularly sharp, with the added bonus of semi-permanently dieing one's mouth and tonge scarlet.
It's no wonder I've hardly a tooth in my head....
