The honest answer is that I felt they were a little bitty, and didn't really fit, and I think it reads better without. As it was it read like you were flinging something in as a side thought, when, no doubt, you weren't. As it is, both those sorts of cannibalisation deserve their own entries, rather than just being mentioned in passing in this one.
