The rite of passage involved is very similar to some of the world older religions. the young initiate is pitted against a ruthless foe who knowing that he is new to the religion do there utmost to inflict greathardship and indeed physical pain upon him (not disimilar to some American Indian tribes that made there young braves go into battle or kill some ferovious beast). After this part of the initiation is over,(some times it's called the game) the youngster is led to the holy of holies (the club hose)whereupon the high priest (bar steward ) liberaly anoints him with vast quantities of beer, only when a consierable number of such anointings have been completed will the youngster be considered to be a man.
