I've often wondered just how much of Oscar Wilde's own personality was incorporated into Lord Henry. Given Wilde's reputation for witty comments and living the high life. His affect on Lord Alfred Douglas mirror's Lord Henry's affect on his protege. They appear to have had a lot in common, how strange then that he ended up more like Dorian.
