The "Paul is dead" thing was huge in the states. There was even a radio special with the music clues and discussions of the cover clues. It was staged very eerily at midnight.
You came away thinking that it might be true. Of course the Fab 4 had a big laugh on everyone and giggled through many press conferences on the subject.
I always thought that they did it for a laugh
but it sure caused a real row here.
