Sailor Scouts dying?
At the end of The Queen Beryl saga? (Volume 1 of the original manga.) I think not. Mixx have now finished translating up to Volume 7 of this excellent series and the only Senshi to have died is Pluto at the end if Volume 4, protecting Sailor Chibi Moon.
There have been examples of Americans mistranslating and generally butchering Anime and manga, but Sailor Moon is not one of them. The fan community has never been happy with the quality of the dub of Sailor Moon, but I've never heard a complaint about the quality of the translation.

Yes I do believe they kick it ,but do not fear it's a cartoon so there's a good chance of resurection and sailor moon r and s are being dubbed so expect them on cartoon network!

In the last episode of the dubbed anime the sailor "scouts" (*cringe) are-as this article says-one by one "removed from the action". I saw this episode about 3 years ago and I believe it was stated when Mercury is "removed" like this
Moon-"What have you done to Sailor Mercury! (cry weep sob)"
DDgirls-"She's in the Negaverse now! Mwahahahahahahahaha!" or something like that... @_@
In the original this whole ending was 3 episodes long (cut to one in the dub). Basically the senshi defeat the DDgirls (or whatever they're called) protecting SM and because they use up all there power and/or get there power partially turned back on themselves while attacking. Then SM is all alone and says she can't continue with out her friends (lots of crying from her). Then the spirits of her friends come and comfort her to go on. (Note-In the SM says portion of the dub you can see a short clip from the part of the senshi's spirits talking to SM) She finds Tux-mask or Mamoru and he's evil-he tries to kill her-SM changes him back with her locket/music box thing-Beryl through a bolder attack thingy-Tuxy shatters it with a rose and the rose hits Beryl in the chest. However shards from the bolder hit Mamoru/Tuxy and he dies. There is this sad crying scene. The evil queen whose name I can't spell puts herself in Beryl’s body and SM's power combined with the spirit of her friends defeats her but SM uses all her power and as she dies she wishes she could have just been a ordinary girl. Sad music. Shot of silver crystals light seen from space and sweeping over the earth. Silver crystal resurrects SM and friends. They become ordinary girls with no memory of what happened or each other. SM- now plain Usagi-recognizes Mamoru from somewhere but shes not sure wherre. Mamoru doesn't even realize she exists. In the dub they create this scene where Mamoru meat Usagi in the hospital but that is just BS. This is a very sad episode in the original.
The scene you are talking about is not the end of the Beryl saga. Pluto and Chibi Moon (Called MiniMoon in the dub-horrors horrors!) don't enter until the R season.

One more thing-About the quality of the manga translation. Its fairly ok. You can find many reviews, praises, and complaints if you simply look for them online. One thing was they used the dub names for the inner senshi-I believe they were forced to do this. One weird thing is that SM's mom finds a cup that says CHIBI-USA on it even though the translation was using the name Rini-I can't really explain what happens-you have to read that part. They kept Haruka, Michiru, Chibimoon etc. They kept the whole stars gender thingy. They kept the Haruka - Michiru relationship. That was good.
I know I'm rambling. Just look online if you want to find out what really happened.
