White City did not close in 1959 and is still alive and well and on the Central Line.
Anyone who has travelled back from Town on the Central Line will
know that this is the station where you can while away many an hour because LT cannot make up its mind whether to send the train to Ealing Broadway or to West Ruislip.
If you are really unlucky the train will terminate at White City.
Unfortunate if you are plastered, holding a greasy kebab and its the last train.

I'm glad someone posted this. I was seriously wondering how I'd been getting home from work for the past year, and if that building I'd been depositing money into was mearly some strange apperition.
