A Conversation for How a Nuclear Plant Works

Post 1

Sad, Mad or Bad? - I always wanted to be a dino, but alas, I'm just old.

And Homer Simpson is in the driving seat in one of these things. The mind boggles, doesn't it? smiley - yikes

Homer Simpson is not representative of the nuclear industry. I don't even like to joke about that; it's akin to saying all police are like Chief Wiggum.

Furthermore, nuclear waste doesn't glow, and it especially doesn't glow green. The only time it seems to glow is when it's submerged in water; the glow is called Cherenkov (sp?) radiation and is released when electrons leave the waste faster than the speed of light in water, and slow down, releasing their kinetic energy in the form of light.

Also, fish near nuclear plants do not have three eyes.
