John Peel will be sorely missed, but his legacy to pop and rock music will surely live on for a long, long time. As a collector and fan of live music, Peel's Radio 1 sessions are often amongst my most prized possessions for bands that I love as well as bands that I am not particularly infatuated with, but have come to appreciate. Indeed, it was through Peel's Radio 1 shows that I have come to like many bands as the show's reputation alone seems to have inspired many bands to perform above what they have in the studio environment alone.
RIP John Peel -- and thanks for changing the way we get to hear popular music.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
