A Conversation for The World's Longest Place Name

Ironic...

Post 1

Mr. Baby Man

I find it ironic that one on the longest place names in the US is "El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciuncula" (which means "The Town of Our Lady the Queen of the Angels of Porciuncula"). It is also known to some locals as "The City of Angels" (People do tend to get a bit verbose when naming things after angels). It is known to the rest of the world as Los Angeles, or even shorter - L.A.

Talk about condensing a name!

I think Los Angeles is listed in the Guiness Book of Records as the shortest abbreviation of a placename. I don't know how something like that can ever be verified.
