Charon the ferryman wife?

I remember hearing that Charon was named so by the discoverer not only because he wished to keep the tradition of naming planets after Greek gods, but also because he wanted to name it after his wife as well - whose name is Sharon or some such.
sorry I don't have time to check the facts right now, but perhaps I'll do so another time.
