I was the smart one. I bought Pulse on cassette to get One of These Days and the intro ambient noise tape. And also no light.
Fire Bat, the original pressing of the disc has a small red flashing light on the spine (giving the box a Pulse, as it were). Since it was battery operated, it followed that some would want to keep the thing going ad infinitum.
