When Pierre de Coubertain set up the Olympic movement he evisioned it to encompass all that the ancient Greek games had. Competition of body and mind. So the Cultural games awarded laurel crowns to poets and artists as well as the sportsmen. Sadly the cultural part has been superceded by the sports.
