Small Hours

Definition: The time at which I am writing this. Far too late to be up and yet far too early now to go to bed. The period of the night at which no sane person is still awake. Generally seen as the time between 2am and 5am. It includes the so called "point of no return", this being 4am approx. at which you must make a decision whether it is better to pull an all-nighter or go to bed. This point in time is usually accompanied (at least in summer) by an appreciable lightening outside and the birds beginning to sing. On that point, I think that I should probably make that decision an hour early... Ah well...
