This is an index of notable and worthwhile authors, the kind about whom you might think 'the world would be a better place, if only more people knew of him/her'. Unfortunately, these authors don't have any guide entries written about them yet at h2g2. In conjunction with the H2G2 Literary Society, this may be used: to quickly find an author to your taste, to find out more about an author that you already like, to promote world unity and the consumption of doughnuts, and to act as a definitive excuse for reading too much.
Sometimes it happens that as the H2G2 Literary Society is updated, this page isn't updated as quickly. So there might be a name below that has a guide entry that has already been added. Or perhaps there is a guide entry that we don't know about yet. Don't worry if your guide entry isn't approved, let us know about it. We list unapproved guide entries as well. If there is an entry, or anything else you'd like to bring to my attention, please email me at [email protected] or post something in the forums.
Thank you to everyone who has suggested an author. I am afraid that in updating the list a few may have been forgotten, or put into the wrong category. Please report any mis-placed authors and spelling errors that you find.
Finally, I should just like to ask that more of you get to work writing guide entries on the authors. They need not be exhaustive, but may include:
- A brief introduction (genre, etc)
- A little biography
- A list of works, with dates, and comments if you like
- Links to any fan sites that you can find
Try and link to as many relevent entries as possible, such as discussions of genre type, or other related authors.
