Luftwaffe

The German Airforce is called Luftwaffe. Since Hermann Göring ordered massive roundflights through Europe in the middle of the 20th century that noun is one of the few pieces of german language known in other countries as well. After that rather dark chapter ended, the German Luftwaffe had a new start in the 50s with state-of-the-art american equipment. In the year 2000, after generations of soldiers came and went, this equipment is still in use, kept in shape by multiple layers of paint and superglue.
