The act of putting fortunes inside desserts originated in an ancient oriental practice called "fortuning". Upon a male child's 16th birthday, a message written on the bark of the rubber tree was inserted between underneath the skin directly above the bicep. The arm would eventually become ripe with disease and fall off, allowing the youngster to remove the message and absorb it's wisdom. Most people prefer the cookie

Fortune Cookies.That's a deep subject. One that ought to be simply enjoyed, if you like crisp cookies.
It could be used as a therapeutic tool, though. Once I was told, whatever your fortune says, add the two words "in bed" at the end of the sentence. It just might put a smile on your face.
