Hitting Meryl in front of the wolves will cause her to whistle to them and encourage them to attack you. However, if you equip the cardboard box while after doing so, the wolves will give up and... er... relieve themselves upon your box. The box now becomes a form of camouflage against wolves, who will mistake you for one of their own.
Another cardboard box one: put on the correct cardboard box while sitting inside the space in the back of an army truck, and you will be transported to a different area depending on the box which works.

I notice you didn't mention the voyeuristic bits.
My favourite is the 'Staff' frequency on the codec... because it's only semi-comprehensible, and I'm not sure whether there might be some in-jokes I'm missing.
I can't see the ghosts, alas; I have the PC version, on which the camera is generally pretty buggy.

There are "voyeuristic bits"?
I'm don't think I've got any of the in-jokes - the only one I ever understood was the one about Snake being called 'Iroquois Pliskin' (Snake Pliskin) in the second game.

Have a browse of http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/game/197909.html - yes, you can see Meryl's underwear. I'm not sure quite what the 'Staff' codec channel (I forget the frequency; it can be found through trial and error) is about, since it appears to throw up gibberish, but there are intelligible bits (e.g. '3D', 'Outer Heaven') that make me suspect some of the other gibberish may be comprehensible to someone.

It's the (fictional) setting for the first Metal Gear game.
A2836569 says South American, but a little Googling suggests African; I'll check the game manual and see whether there's an error in the Entry.

I remember one of them being in Zanzibar Land - that's African, isn't it?

That's Metal Gear II.
I checked, and the Entry is incorrect, so it's off to Ed. Feedback.
